It’s seen off television, video, DVDs and is now holding its own against streaming – and when Plymouth’s £53million multiplex opens it will prove the silver screen still has a golden future.

Cineworld is bringing the metaphorical curtain up on a 12-screen development, including the latest IMAX and 4DX technology, in Drake Circus The Barcode, at Bretonside, as the company successfully surfs a wave of big screen blockbuster success.

The firm, which has 124 outlets in the UK and is opening more this year, is confident about the future of cinema.
