A downtown cinema? Michigan Baseball Foundation considers plan

After purchasing the Strosacker Center — the former United Way building — last year, the Michigan Baseball Foundation has been working on grand plans for the space and collaborating with community partners to do so.

MBF staff have been working with Northwood University, the City of Midland and Midland Center for the Arts to identify opportunities, develop programming and explore the feasibility of creating unique cinema theater downtown.

MBF was responsible for bringing Molasses, the Larkin Beer Garden and Movies on Main to downtown Midland, in addition to its most recent project: the Main Street plaza, which is currently being constructed under the Poseyville Road Bridge.

The Strosacker Center, located at 220 W. Main St., is just one development among many projects that MBF is currently working on. It is also working to redevelop a blighted former manufacturing site located on both sides of Poseyville Road, south of the Tittabawassee River, known as the 4D site.
