New space-saving BT421 engineered to suit a range of signage and wayfinding applications

London, 3 September 2019 – NEC Display Solutions Europe today announces the launch of a new space-saving display designed for digital signage needs in a range of industries.

NEC’s new BT421 display has been engineered to provide ultra-reliable and compact wayfinding, advertising and information for industries such as transportation, retail, cinema, healthcare and education. The device is the perfect replacement for static and printed signage, enabling operators to bring the power of dynamic content to a range of applications and new areas of the premises.

With a 42″ screen, ultra-wide screen ratio of 16:4 and a display height of just 28.9 cm, the BT421 enables operators to install the device within constricted spaces, bringing crisp and eye-catching visual information to new areas of the premises.

The new display provides perfect, eye-pleasing readability thanks to a high brightness of 700 cd/m2. Meanwhile, the BT421 features a sealed panel that prevents dust or dirt ingress and can cope with temperatures ranging from 0-50°C, ensuring reliable operation and helping to protect operators’ investment.

NEC’s industry-leading engineering ensures that the new model will continue to provide years of crisp, bright content, while its anti-reflective screen surface provides superb readability in even the brightest light environments. The integrated trim function enables 16:9 content to be used while actively displaying the upper or lower area for display of native 1920 x 480 content.

While its compact size enables a much wider range of potential installation options, the BT421 also supports back-to-back installs thanks to signal “daisy chaining”, enabling operators to create banks of displays for the most eye-catching signage, wayfinding and customer information.

“Businesses are constantly looking for ways that they can improve information to customers, but space constraints mean they are often restricted in where they can place displays,” said Erik Elbert, Product Manager Large Format Displays at NEC Display Solutions Europe. “NEC’s new BT421 display is the solution, bringing the benefits of digitalization and dynamic content to areas where space is limited and enabling operators to install screens in a much wider range of their premises.”

“The NEC BT421 has been engineered for premises like transportation hubs where real-time information is a key component of the customer experience,” said Filip Cogghe, Senior Sales Manager, Transportation EMEA at NEC Display Solutions. “Many buildings were not designed with today’s demand for information and wayfinding in mind, making it difficult to install traditional display technology to space-limited and constricted environments. With new BT421, NEC will help these businesses transform the way they keep their customers informed, enabling them to add digital displays in many more spaces for a truly holistic and fully-informed experience.”

The NEC MultiSync® BT421 display is available across EMEA from September 2019 onwards. For more information, please visit https://nec-display-solutions.com/p/uk/en/Launch.xhtml?id=BT421
