I am a composer with experience in concert, theatre, opera and film music. My special interest are silent films, having written the music for the surreal film Un Chien Andalou. I wonder if there are out there opportunities for a project involving moble cinema and specific new music written for a small ensemble. I think mobile digital cinema is the ideal solution, so there will be no problem with original footage and so on. My intention is working in partnership with an organization or group of individuals interested in the design and production of this event.

If you have any suggestions, people that I should contact or any ideas, I am all ears

Projection problems - Help Wanted Over the last twelve months many theatres have complained to me that they now find that Dolby Digital tracks will only play for one week before completely failing. From our initial investigations the problem appears to be filmbased rather than an equipment failure, since the next film in that theatre plays for weeks with no problem. To get to the bottom of this requires a large amount of data from the theatres rather than just hearsay from a few. The CTC is already compiling data from a number of trusted sources, but if you are experiencing similar problems please e-mail me at dion@cinemanuk.com or visit www.bkstsctc.org and leave a posting in the forum. The PPT are involved with the Palace Arts Centre at Ibstock, this is a community run project which has rescued the old Palace cinema circa 1909, it has been turned into a community hall with stage etc, and have been convinced to retain the old projection room and to allow the PPT to equip it with projectors etc and to run it as a community cinema on their behalf on a not for profit basis, after which the PPT involvement will be minimal once they have taught 3 or 4 of their members to project, our involvement will be the maintenance of the equipment.

They need right to find either 2x DP20's, 2x Vic 4's or 1 Vic 5 with extended program spools on it.

They also need 2x cinemechanica vertical lamphouses. We have sound system inc speakers, 2x rectifiers as well as all the peripheral bits and pieces that will be required. Can you by any chance point us in the right direction to obtain any of the above requirements.

I don't know if you could help me, but I am after a lens for one of my 35mm machines. I need one with the old 2" (two inch)diameter barrell with either a 21/4" (two-and-a-quarter inch) or 21/2" (two-and-a-half inch)focal length.

Wanted: 35mm projection equipment and ancilary equipment for a proposed new school/community cinema project. If anyone knows of any equipment available please let me know. Looking for 2 projector changeover system - Kalee 19 or similar. This project will bring back cinema to an area which has been without a cinema since 1993.
