Plans have been submitted to turn the Reel Cinema in Derry’s Cross into a hotel and flats have been submitted to planning chiefs. The curtain closed on the 1930s Art Deco picture palace in February last year despite efforts by fans and history buff to save it, bringing to an end 80 years of silver screen entertainment.
