Plans to demolish a former cinema in Lancaster and turn it into a student apartment block have been given the go-ahead. The historic Palace Theatre on Dalton Square closed in 1974 and later became a nightclub and children’s soft play centre. Lancaster City Council have now approved scaled-back proposals to demolish the majority of a building and replace it with a 33-bed student apartment block.
