TV maker Hisense has announced a new range of laser projection TVs at CES 2021. While other makers such as Sony, LG and Samsung have stuck to the traditional panel displays, Hisense has been breaking out of the box a bit with its laser alternatives for a few years now. The company claims its new TriChroma Laser TV is the only display on the market that meets the BT2020 colour standard. In addition, it offers 50% better colour than high-end cinema projectors and has a brightness of 430 nits which is impressive for a projector-like display. It is still not as bright as LCD TVs which can max out at 1,000 nits.
