London, 18 April 2017 – NEC Display Solutions Europe today announced the availability of the new flagship NC3540LS cinema projector with IPG Photonics’ fibre laser light source, a 4K RGB laser projector with a wide colour space (Rec 2020) for cinemas with large screens up to 32 metres width. The new NC3540LS projector delivers 35,000 lumens brightness, outstanding resolution and colour performance. It offers a visual experience that enables cinemas to remain at the cutting edge of cinema projection technology whilst enhancing the experience for their customers.

The NC3540LS laser projector represents the latest advances in laser light source technology for the cinema industry. Cinema operators will benefit from new levels of image quality, reliability and service-free operation. With the use of latest technology, the extended life time, along with requiring no lamp replacement, the NC3540LS is supporting a long-lasting and future-proof operation.

Gerd Kaiser, Senior Product Line Manager Large Venue Projectors at NEC Display Solutions Europe, commented: “The most essential element in the cinema business model is creating an outstanding visual experience for the cinemagoers whilst maximising a projector’s chargeable operation and minimising downtime. Thanks to the speckle-free RGB laser light as well as the 4K resolution, the NC3540LS cinema projector provides the best visual and immersive cinematic experiences, giving cinemagoers detail-rich and vibrant images even for 3D movies. Additionally, the laser light source technology ensures the NC3540LS cinema projector is robust against failure. It offers reduced downtime, high reliability, maintenance free operation and resulting in significantly lower maintenance efforts.”

In addition to these benefits, the NC3540LS offers the utmost flexibility for tailor made solutions. The projector head is connected via fibre cable to the light source system, giving cinemas the flexibility to install their projector head independently whilst benefitting from reduced fan noise. Furthermore, the very high brightness level is scalable from 30 to 100 per cent, as well as supporting stacking options to double the brightness output. This makes the projector an ideal choice when securing bright images for 2D and moreover 3D movies or different screen sizes.

The projector also comes with a wide range of connectivity options. These allow cinemas to also use the projector for non-cinematic activities such as company presentations or gaming events. Overall, the NC3540LS projector is a true premium solution for larger and special cinema screens, theme parks, rental and staging, virtual reality and industrial design.
