Star Wars at the cinema in the 1970s and today

In Hastings, at the back end of the decade of poor taste, the 1970s, a trip to the pictures was a frequent occurrence. It was so much less clinical then: we would park up in a yellow DAF outside the cinema safe in the knowledge the car was not going to get plastered in tickets by a commission-based parking enforcement ‘operative’ who patronisingly insisted on calling you ‘sir’ as you called him anything but.
