Film is dead – long live film (heritage) – The new upstart, digital cinema, has arrived almost completely around the worldknocking the century old technology of film off the top spot when it comes to the making, distribution and exhibition of movies.  However like the electrification of the railways or the move from vinyl to digital via cd there remains a number of people and organisations who are working hard to preserve the knowledge and expertise of film and keep note of the many locations who have made the decision to actively keep and use film equipment either exclusively or in partnership with digital equipment.
