China Box Office: ‘The Dumpling Queen’ Holds No. 1

The film earned RMB32.1 million ($4.5 million) over the May 16–18 frame, pushing its cumulative gross to $46.9 million, according to Artisan Gateway. Starring Ma Li and directed by Andrew Lau, the film tells the real-life story of Zang Jianhe from Qingdao who builds a dumpling empire in Hong Kong after being stranded there in the late 1970s.
