Disney announced at CineEurope that “Avatar: Fire and Ash” will be released in the HDR by Barco premium cinema format on December 19, 2025. The film, part of the successful “Avatar” franchise, promises a visually stunning experience with Barco’s Lightsteering technology delivering bright highlights and rich details. This announcement follows the debut of the film’s trailer at CinemaCon earlier this year, and it joins other upcoming titles in HDR by Barco, such as Marvel’s “The Fantastic Four: First Steps.”

Today at CineEurope, the official convention of the International Union of Cinemas (UNIC), Disney announced that “Avatar: Fire and Ash” is set for release in the HDR by Barco premium format.

“Avatar: Fire and Ash” the third film in the phenomenally successful “Avatar” franchise, opens exclusively in theaters worldwide December 19, 2025. James Cameron takes audiences back to Pandora in an immersive new adventure with Marine turned Na’vi leader Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), Na’vi warrior Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña), and the Sully family. The film also stars Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Oona Chaplin, Cliff Curtis, and Kate Winslet.
This announcement follows the debut of the first trailer for “Avatar: Fire and Ash” at CinemaCon earlier this year. “Avatar: Fire and Ash” marks the third installment in James Cameron’s Avatar franchise which includes “Avatar” (2009) and “Avatar: Way of the Water” (2022).
