J-Hope, a member of the K-pop group BTS, has joined the Korean military. He attended an army camp in Wongju, south of Seoul, and is expected to undergo five weeks of basic training. J-Hope, whose real name is Jung Ho-seok, posted on the Weverse fandom platform to thank his fans for their support and to reassure them that he will return safely. All able-bodied men in Korea are required to complete two years of compulsory military service before they turn 30, with exceptions made for athletes and some classical musicians. However, these exceptions do not extend to K-pop stars.
