A student is leading a campaign to save an historic cinema after its owner began demolition work – before it was halted.

Sandonia, in Sandon Road, Stafford, is a 120-year-old building which has great importance for the town’s heritage.

It was first opened as a theatre over a century ago, but was later changed to a cinema, then a bingo hall and after that a snooker hall.
