Mads Fridolin Vejlby, DFF. Cinematography as Empathy

Today we sit down with Mads Fridolin Vejlby, DFF, Director of Photography. Danish born, Los Angeles based. Mads blends a documentary instinct with narrative sensitivity, shaped by studies at Copenhagen Film and Photoschool, the Danish School of Media and Journalism, Fatamorgana, and an MFA in cinematography from the American Film Institute Conservatory. His philosophy is naturalistic. Empathy first. He draws from painting, photography, sculpture, and literature, letting feeling lead before technique.
