Sound Advice: History transformed into museum sound

Babel is a 2001 sculpture by Brazilian artist, Cildo Meireles which has been on display recently at London’s Tate Modern. It’s a 30ft-tall circular tower cladded in vintage radios of every kind – radios that continually emit random broadcasts through 360 degrees: the room buzzes with electronic noise.
