The Space Theater at the National Museum of Natural Science in Taichung, Taiwan, has upgraded to Christie’s Griffyn 4K35-RGB pure laser projectors, enhancing its immersive display capabilities with superior brightness and color fidelity. This transition from an older lamp-based system was completed and opened to the public in November 2025, marking a significant advancement in Taiwan’s planetarium technology. Six projectors, configured in a circular array, provide seamless 360-degree images with high resolution and color accuracy, significantly improving the visual experience. The project was managed by Dacoms Technology, which ensured precise installation and integration, including overcoming structural and thermal challenges. This successful upgrade is drawing attention from other institutions in Taiwan, potentially setting a new standard for planetarium visuals in the region.
