Cineworld, one of the leading multiplex chains in the UK has agreed a deal with RealD, the leading digital stereoscopic format provider, for the installation of 30 systems for the release of Beowulf in November 2007. In addition, Regal, the largest exhibitor in the US, will also convert an additional 25 screens to digital 3D capability using the RealD system for the re-release of Nightmare 3D, on top of around 100 screens it has already upgraded. The deals are likely to be the first of several announced prior to release of several digital 3D titles in Q4 2007, mirroring the previous pattern of exhibitors responding to early 3D content availability.
