Manchengladbach, (April 2010) – Under the motto ‘Efficiency – Innovation – Sustainability’, the next HANNOVER MESSE- 19 to 23 April 2010 – will be showcasing innovations, new developments and technologies, alongside new materials from the world of industry. As part of the “Digital Factory”, which is one of nine trade shows taking place within the Hannover fair, there will be a special show in hall 17, focusing on Virtual Reality and 3D Visualisation.
Central to this show is a 3D Theatre where a series of 3D and Virtual Reality applications will be shown. This dedicated area is conducted by the Deutsche Messe AG in cooperation with the Virtual Dimension Center (VDC) and ICIDO from Stuttgart (Germany). Christie, leading manufacturer of projection technology supports this special show providing its HD 3-Chip DLP and active stereo projectors.
Special Show on Visualisation: Hall 17, E66
On a dedicated 500 m stand, which ICIDO set under the motto “I see, it’s real”, visitors will be guided through a complete visualisation chain where diverse companies will be showcasing practical application samples.
Immediately after entering the booth, the visitor will be presented with a real highlight: On a 8m x 4,50m large screen, spectators will get an impressive introduction to the subject of 3D visualisation by watching a mixture of real and 3D film scenes. The film was created in co-operation between ICIDO and 3D Madness and will be projected onto the screen using two Christie Roadster HD18K. The high-performance 3-Chip DLP projectors equipped with Infitec filters will be delivering the passive-stereo images.

In order to get to know more on the subject of Virtual Reality, visitors are invited to continue their walk to a separate area where they can fully immerse into a virtual world. A three sided Cave will be set-up to present an engineering scenario where the workflow of a filling line is visualised. Behind each of the three projected sides, a Christie Mirage HD6 is responsible for the bright – and most importantly – sharp, active-stereo 3D-images.
As if that were not enough: Spectators will be able to see how companies profit from the virtual world using a power wall for product presentations, for when they need to configure large component parts. Another two Mirage HD6 projectors will be used for the 5m x 3m rear projection wall which will be installed by imsys, located in Leonberg. Imsys is also responsible for the planning and set-up of an on-screen projection display where a virtual service and support scenario will be showcased using an additional Mirage Series projector.
Apart from the described projects, ICIDO was able to win further highly regarded companies to participate at this dedicated Hannover Messe Special in order to present themselves and their 3D and Virtual Reality knowledge.
