$800K to tear down cinemas; N. Branford firm has winning bid to raze long-vacant Showcase

EAST HARTFORD — The town has awarded an $800,000 contract to North Branford-based Cherry Hill Construction Inc. to raze the Showcase Cinemas on Silver Lane. The now town-owned cinema complex is slated to be razed in the coming months as town officials look to revitalize the long vacant and blighted area.
