Kinoton 4K D-Cinema Solutions Surging in Popularity

Kinoton’s current 4K Digital Cinema solutions are being eagerly snapped up by the market. A whole slew of installations is already proving itself daily in movie theatres. The latest in Germany include the Cineplex in Marburg, the Cinema in Dachau, and the Comet Cine Center in Monchengladbach. All of these projectors boast a resolution of 4,096 x 2,160 pixels, or four times the 2K standard, an increase that is especially advantageous on large to very large screens. The higher resolution of the 4K format yields sharper, more realistic, stunning images unmarred by visible pixel structures, not even from the front rows. There is an accelerating trend toward the use of full 4K: recent examples of movies produced in this higher resolution include “Men in Black 3”, “Premium Rush”, and Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus”.
