Armageddon is about as “scientifically inaccurate” as it gets

The summer of 1998 saw the world weep in unison at tearjerker Armageddon.

It told the story of a group of deep-core drillers who were sent up into space with NASA astronauts to help destroy a huge asteroid that was heading straight for Earth.

But it was the love story between Ben Affleck’s AJ Frost and Liv Tyler’s Grace Stamper, set against the backdrop of the soon-to-be end of the world and Aerosmith’s ‘I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing’ that really got the tears flowing.
