Campaigners celebrate as cinema looks to be saved

Film fans are celebrating the announcement that their cinema could reopen soon.

The Regal, in Melton, was placed in voluntary liquidation in June. Its owner, John Merryweather, 65, died in April.

The Saving Regal Melton group, set up by cinema-lover Sue Bailey on Facebook, attracted hundreds of followers when it was launched at the beginning of July.
