Marshall is drawing on her experience teaching college courses about TV and film (most recently at DePaul University and Columbia College Chicago). She stepped away from academia two years ago but said she missed teaching. That led her to partnering with the digital publication Atlas Obscura to develop speaking events and tours around Chicago. Chicago Movie Tours is an expansion of that.
