Our expanding waistlines are continuing to cause problems for public venues around the country and this time it’s one of our classic cinemas that have taken the brunt of our weight.

Grade II-listed Malvern Cinema in Worcestershire, which was built in 1885, has removed all of its 380 seats after realising the average cinema-goer no longer comfortably fits in the snug 17 inch wide ones.
