What will they think of next? When I arrived in Las Vegas for CinemaCon this spring, I was of the mind that cinema technology had pretty much reached its apex: Digital projection is ubiquitous; digital 3-D is no longer a novelty; and, in the past couple of years, immersive sound systems from Dolby Atmos and Barco Auro have done for audio what 3-D did for image.
