How Paignton’s long-lost cinema will shine once again

A restored Paignton Picture House will become the “beacon” for the town’s regeneration, according to the team behind the project.

English Heritage this week confirmed £200,000 in funding for the building, which is believed to be the oldest purpose-built cinema in Europe, opening in 1914.
