MediaMerge, a leading audio visual integrator based in Chelsea, recently led the creative development and implementation of multiple exhibits for a new $38M construction project in Dallas.

The ICR Discovery Center for Science and Earth History is a 30,000-square-foot museum that encourages guests to explore modern creation science through interactive planetarium shows, state-of-the-art exhibits and live science presentations.

For the ICR project, MediaMerge provided conceptualization, design, audio and video content production, and installation of multiple exhibits including a wide range of presentation technologies.

“Our team was excited for the opportunity to work on such a unique project,” MediaMerge President Ken McKibben said. “The team at ICR challenged us to present history and science in ways that are both beautiful and compelling.”

The exhibits MediaMerge worked on include 10 prominent “Founders of Science,” which includes talking portraits that come to life in a lively discussion about the foundations of science. The “Origins of the Universe” exhibit features a near 360-degree floor-to-ceiling laser projection with 12-channel surround sound.

The final exhibit tells the story of the “Life of Christ” using a multilayered holographic projection. Images are presented on both the rear wall and a holographic film to deliver a unique theatrical experience, similar to 3D, without the need for glasses.

The ICR Discovery Center for Science and Earth History hosted its grand opening on Labor Day, and the museum is expected to host approximately 100,000 guests in its first year of operation.
