REEL Cinema is set to inaugurate a new location in Bishop Auckland on March 27, 2026, as part of the town’s retail and leisure park development. This cinema will feature seven screens and is designed to be a community-centric venue with amenities like a bar, coffee shop, and hot food, along with spaces for private hire for events. It aims to be inclusive with subtitled, autism-friendly, and audio-described screenings, while also showcasing live-streamed cultural events. The cinema will implement laser projection technology and introduce pre-show entertainment, all within an energy-efficient building. The new venue, which will create 30 jobs, signifies a significant addition to Bishop Auckland’s entertainment landscape, enhancing the local economy and community engagement.
