Controversial plans to revamp the Alexandra Cinema and theatre at Newton Abbot have been dropped from the latest proposals for a multi-million-pound revamp of the town centre. Members of Teignbridge Council will meet next week to discuss a radical re-think of the town centre transformation.Part of the re-think involves dropping the highly contentious plans to demolish the interior of the theatre building.
