Odeon in Taunton has been snapped up by a Devon council as part of a multi-million pound deal.
Torbay Council bought the premises at the Riverside Retail Park as the authority tries to raise more income.
Councils have been taking advantage of discounted borrowing rates to buy properties and generate income from the profits as their funding from central government has been reduced.
