An ‘eyesore’ cinema in Long Eaton that’s been closed for a decade is set to be turned into flats and shops – and locals say ‘anything is an improvement’ in their hopes of breathing new life into the high street.Erewash Borough Council plans to turn the old Galaxy Cinema on Derby Road into new apartments, townhouses and create a space for shops.
The cinema opened in 1907 but the building has been closed for almost a decade.
