Plymouth’s Vue cinema closed due to power cut

Thousands of Star Wars and other film fans left disappointed on one of the busiest days of the year.

Plymouth’s Vue Cinema at the Barbican Leisure Park is closed today because of a power cut.

Film fans have said that staff are turning them away because of a fault on what should be one of the busiest days of the year.

A combination of the new Star Wars film, Christmas, heavy rain and the start of the holidays mean that thousands have booked their seats.

But film fans report that the website is not accepting bookings.

They have said that staff are offering refunds and complementary tickets for another day.

A power cut overnight has reportedly disabled the projectors and despite an engineer attending, it is not clear when it will reopen.

Plymouth Live has tried to contact the Vue head office but has had no answer. Anxious customers have not been answered on the Facebook page.
