Regal Entertainment, the country’s biggest cinema chain, is growing with a deal to buy a rival theater chain, according to LA Biz.
The Knoxville, Tenn.-based Regal has inked an agreement to buy Hollywood Theaters for about $238 million. The Portland, Ore., exhibitor, which operates in 16 states and three U.S. territories, will add 43 theaters with 513 screens to Regal’s total of 540 locations with 6,880 screens.
