Seattle’s iconic Cinerama set to return as ‘SIFF Cinema Downtown’

The Cinerama opened in 1963, just after the World’s Fair, with its then state-of-the-art technology of the same name. The screen was made of 2,000 vertical thin strips, and the three-projection system was considered to be a draw to get away from the new thing called TV.
