The Pyramid at Anderson came into community ownership earlier this year and is now owned and run by locals, with plans to renovate and develop the B-listed building. Now, they are hosting the cosy Yurt Cinema for a series of special screenings over the winter.
Cinemor77 has been running the Yurt Cinema at outdoor events and festivals since 2016. It’s usually packed up at this time for the year, but the cinema experience has found a home in The Pyramid’s sanctuary space.
Ailsa MacKenzie from The Pyramid said “We’re very excited to have the Yurt Cinema at The Pyramid with a great programme with some wonderful movies. We know Christmas can be an expensive time of year, so we deliberately chose to keep the pricing for tickets and cinema treats as low as possible. It’s a bit of an experiment this year, which is going very well so far. We hope lots of people come to enjoy the very special combination of the cosy Yurt in our historic building.”
