Redcar and Cleveland Council says it is pressing on with major capital projects such as the redevelopment of the Regent Cinema and the £10m Kirkleatham Walled Garden.
A report to the council’s cabinet previously suggested the schemes were being paused and their business cases reviewed.
But Councillor Wayne Davies, cabinet member for economic development, claimed there had been a “miscommunication”.
